Secondhand books, honestly used

Every book arrives already read.

We sell used books with their previous reader's pencil still in the margins — the underlines, the arguments, the "yes, exactly." You're never reading alone.

How it works

A

One copy, one mind

Nothing here is print-on-demand. Each listing is the actual copy a real person owned, read, and marked up — so what you buy is the only one of its kind.

B

Underlines where it mattered

We don't edit out the pencil. The passages someone else stopped to underline are usually worth stopping for — a second opinion, built in.

C

A note in the margin, free

No extra charge for the marginalia. It came with the book, and it stays with the book. Consider it a second, much shorter, book.

"this is my mother, word for word"

"I bought a copy of Stoner with someone's notes in the margins from 2003. Their handwriting got smaller as the book went on — like they were trying not to interrupt themselves. I finished it in one sitting, arguing with a stranger the whole way."
